Heartbroken Captain Lee Rosbach is yet to get over the loss of his son, who died a year ago following a long-running battle with addiction as he takes to social media to honor his memory.

Captain Lee Rosbach is still mourning the loss of his 42-year-old son, Joshua Lee Rosbach, one year after his death.

The 70-year-old publicly honored Joshua’s memory when he took to his Instagram page to drop an emotional post that read, “It was a year ago today that my bride, Mary Anne and I lost our beloved Son Josh to his demons. The struggle continues, but we're getting thru it.”

It was Lee who broke the news of Joshua’s passing with a picture of the latter and a lengthy caption. Through the heart-wrenching caption, the “Below Deck” captain encouraged people that “are fighting this disease,” to “find a way to get help."

The “Below Deck” star continued his statement by expressing his gratitude to the family, friends, and fans, who have showered his family with love. The Sun noted that Lee followed the post up with an even more touching update that he shared with his Instagram followers. Along with a video of a rotating wedding band, Lee explained:

“We took my brides wedding ring, had the center diamond replaced with a heart with some of Josh's ashes placed inside the heart and his name inscribed on the outside and then soldered shut.”

People Magazine recalled that Joshua, who is survived by his parents, brother, sister, nephews, and nieces, died after he overdosed unintentionally in July 2019.

During a conversation with the outlet, Lee stated that he couldn’t put his feelings into words as “we’re wired in the opposite way. We're supposed to die before our children do.”

Lee also asked those who have friends or family members struggling with addiction to take necessary measures to get them the help that they need. Lee concluded the post by telling fans that instead of praying for Joshua, they should focus on taking care of their children and friends that required it.

His family additionally appealed to the public to donate to the Humane Society of Broward County as a way of honoring Joshua’s life.
